Description
The Mercedes-Benz W186 Model 300 is a four-door luxury sedan produced by the German manufacturer between 1951 and 1957, being the company’s flagship model at the time. The W186 is often referred to as the ‘Adenauer’, named after Konrad Adenauer, who was the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany.
The 300 Adenauer features a number of components shared by the iconic 300SL “Gullwing” – like the engine, suspension and chassis – making it more of a ‘driver’s’ car. The car was made available as both a saloon and cabriolet, featuring graceful modernistic bodywork atop Mercedes’ proven X-frame chassis.
The example we have on offer is currently a non-runner and could be intended as a project car in dire need of restoration. We hope that the next owner will be able to restore this stunning machine to its former glory. The car stands as is, in its cream paintwork over brown interior, and is ready for a new lease on life.
