In December 2022, Creative Rides hosted an exceptional classic car auction, featuring over 60 of the most exquisite classic cars ever to be auctioned in South Africa. The event was unique for its hybrid format, combining both virtual and live elements, and took place at Creative Rides’ spacious showroom in Bryanston.

The auction was aptly named the “British Invasion” due to the remarkable number of impeccably preserved British-manufactured masterpieces up for bidding. However, the auction also showcased prized South African collector cars, European classics, and the perennial favorites of local buyers—powerful V8 muscle cars known for their robust performance.

Kevin Derrick, the CEO of Creative Rides, expressed his excitement about the auction, highlighting the exceptional quality of the vehicles on offer. He particularly noted the rarity of featuring an Aston Martin DB6 Mk2 Vantage in the auction, a car seldom seen in South African sales. This addition was a testament to the impressive caliber of classics within the local collector community.

The auction also paid homage to the iconic Aston Martin DB5 and its slightly larger successor, the DB6, both renowned for their association with James Bond in the 007 movie franchise. These cars have earned a special place in automotive history for their timeless appeal and connection to one of the most famous film series in the world.
