The Riley Pathfinder was manufactured at the Nuffield works in England from 1953 to 1957 where they produced 5152 units worldwide, there was very few built with the real Riley 2.5 litre twin overhead valves, 4 cylinder with hemispherical heads, and twin SU carburettors. Known as the very last true riley build, as in 1955 a mark 2 version with a six cylinder Westminster motor was then used.

This car came into SA from Zambia in 1980 and was registered on a black and white TJ number plate. After some years the car was placed in dry storage in Selby, where it stood undiscovered for many years. The car was purchased by a classic car collector in Benoni. then some years later sold again. It has since undergone some restoration Including a full respray in its original green colour, also re upholstering the interior to the original full cow hide spec. the motor was serviced and also re chroming the chrome work.
