Sellers Description: Restored 15 years ago by a well-known classic Volkswagen expert this Berg Blue (a 1964 colour). It has recently completed a hassle-free 200km journey up to Johannesburg.
It has a well-sorted gear linkage, steering and suspension, and the motor pulls cleanly through the range. There aren’t any real signs of engine, gearbox or axle oil leaks and the cabin is well finished in black vinyl and fresh carpets. Lights, fuel gauge and wipers are in working and with the quarter-vent windows.
The windscreen and window rubbers are good, which still have all the chrome inserts and trim to keep the original appearance up – even the frunk (front trunk) has a correct cardboard liner rather than an aftermarket carpet. Bodywork is in good solid, straight shape and the paint in brilliant condition. The good looks are further enhanced by all the correct beadings, bumpers, bright work and a period correct Durban-made Stirling roof rack.
The car is currently licenced on a ‘special’ or ‘S’ disc, which means roadworthy isn’t required to do change of ownership. Paperwork is up to date and reflects the USED/GEBRUIK status.
